Friday, May 8, 2020 - 9:00am to 10:30am

The Center City Power Friday is held on the 2nd Friday of the month.

In place of our in-person gatherings each Friday, we will be hosting our Power Friday meetings online.  Our members and our community of women business owners need support in challenging times, and we hope that by converting these in-person meetings to online meetings, we can continue to provide the networking opportunities, education and support that our community needs while we practice social distancing.  Part of NAWBO’s mission is to create innovative and effective change in business culture.  We are practicing what we preach in our organization by actively seeking out opportunities to innovate and continue to serve our members, in spite of the ever-changing news around us.

Topic: Crafting your Five Word Life Story

Storytelling is confidence. It's learning how to communicate in a way that isn't contrived and isn't full of jargon or professional clichés. Hillary will guide us through her Tell Me A Story's signature Five Word Life Story exercise. Use this as a framework to revamp your elevator pitch, go deeper with your email introductions, and reframe your internal narrative as a leader, a business owner, and everything you stand for outside of those roles. We'll do the exercise as a group, share our 5 words, and talk through the next steps for how to use this as a tool in your everyday communication.

Speaker: Hillary Rea

Hillary Rea is the founder of Tell Me A Story. This Philadelphia- based, full-service communication consulting business trains entrepreneurs, start-up leaders, and those looking to leave a bigger footprint on the world how to use the art of storytelling as a powerful communication tool. She's worked with leaders across industries - social justice nonprofits, women-owned small businesses, tech start-ups, and Fortune 500 companies - to communicate an authentic narrative through 1-on-1 services (now fully virtual) and the long running Tell Me A Story Live Show (virtual for the time being). In addition to running her own business, Hillary is the producer and host of Rashomon - a longform narrative storytelling podcast where one family tells every side of the same story.
